Chelsea’s winger Mykhailo Mudryk trains with Ukraine after injury scare

About Football Express UK

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk appears to have avoided an injury setback after taking part in Ukraine’s latest training session.

The 22-year-old was substituted in the 90th minute of his country’s 1-1 Euro 2024 qualifying draw against England in Poland on Saturday after signalling that he felt pain in his calf.

Mykhailo Mudryk fell awkwardly as he attempted to change direction under pressure from Three Lions defender Kyle Walker.

However, on Sunday Mudryk took part in Ukraine’s recovery session which featured some running on grass at the Fair Play Arena just outside Wroclaw.

He is listed in manager Serhiy Rebrov’s group who are due to fly to Milan on Monday ahead of a pivotal match against Italy at the San Siro on Tuesday.

New signing Romeo Lavia is currently assess after an ankle injury sustained in training on Thursday.

Joining the likes of Reece James, Christopher Nkunku and Wesley Fofana in the treatment room.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Mudryk has struggled to make an impact at Chelsea following his £89 million transfer in January.

He is still waiting on his first competitive goal after taking in 20 appearances.

There is plenty of potential to be unlocked in his game – with pace proving to be a useful asset.
