Chelsea With A £30m Bid For Denzel Dumfries

According to Italian media, Chelsea has made a €35 million (£30.8 million) bid for Inter winger Denzel Dumfries. Dumfries has long been associated with the Blues. And they are looking for a right wing-back replacement for the injured Reece James. Dumfries joined Inter from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2021 for approximately €15 million. Has excelled for both the  Serie A and Netherlands national team. The London-based team, according to the Evening Standard, is particularly interested in signing Dumfries. Chelsea are now waiting to see if the Nerazzurri agree to a transfer for the Dutchman.

Denzel Dumfries is one of the players to watch in 2023. There are a number of clubs interested in signing the 26-year-old. He impressed for the Netherlands at the World Cup, scoring and assisting against the United States in their last-16 tie. But he was already a popular player before that.

Dumfries offers a certified European player versatility and a lot of interesting aspects for “ modern ” coaches. He is As an offensive right-back who can also play in right midfield and fill in as a center-back. His major quality is his versatility and is known as a complete package when it comes to the right flank.

 He has also been linked with a move to Manchester United and Tottenham. As Erik ten Hag wants to expand his options at right back and Antonio Conte is rumored to be a huge admirer.

Chelsea has reportedly submitted a €35 million offer for the 26-year-old. while Inter are hoping to hold out for a much larger price. The source states that they are demanding at least €55 million for releasing Dumfries.

Fabrizio Romano wrote about Inter’s stand: “Big money or nothing, this is their stance – and the absolute priority is to keep Dumfries at least until the end of the season.”

Rafaela Pimenta, Dumfries’ agent, stated that his client might be priced out of a transfer in the coming year. He said:

“He’s an inter player now, and then we’ll see what happens in the future.”

After playing a key role in the win over USA Dumfries explained his thoughts about the transfer news. He replied:

  “Of course it’s a big compliment to be linked with Chelsea, but playing for Inter it’s big compliment too. Chelsea move in January? I’m focused on nothing else but national team and Inter.”

If Dumfries joins Chelsea, he would be the club’s sixth January signing. That is, following Mykhaylo Mudryk, David Datro Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, and Andrey Santos, as well as Joao Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid.
