Chelsea defender can’t understand why club are so desperate to sell him

Chelsea

Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah cannot understand why his club are so eager to sell him. That is according to a report from The Telegraph.

It claims that Trevoh Chalobah is at a loss over why Chelsea are so open to the idea of letting him go.

Earlier this month, Fabrizio Romano claimed that the Blues had accepted a £25m offer from Nottingham Forest for Chalobah during the summer transfer window, only for the centre-back to reject the move.

He is yet to play a game for Chelsea this season, though he has been unavailable because of injury.

Chelsea trying to make some profit

Chelsea spent a lot of money during the summer and while they did have a clear-out, it is quite obvious that the club want to generate more cash.

It is probably why they are more than happy for Chalobah to leave Stamford Bridge. Coming through the academy, the Blues can make a good bit of profit by selling him.

It perhaps did not need to come down to this. Chelsea could have easily given Chalobah a role in the squad instead of signing Axel Disasi, which would have saved them £38.5m.

It is the route the club wanted to go down, though, and Chalobah, who was once hailed as “fantastic” by his former manager Thomas Tuchel, now looks destined to depart west London in the new year.

A lot can obviously happen between now and January, such as injuries, but it would now be a surprise if the 24-year-old ended up staying with Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.

Though, it would not have been the case if Chelsea could have given the role to him in the squad. Instead, they signed Axel Disasi who costed them £38.5m.

Now looks not to be a part of Chelsea by next summer.

Though, a lot can happen before the January transfer window like injuries

But it is unlikely for him to stay with Mauricio Pochettino and co.
