Patrick Dorgu wants to play for Chelsea despite Barcelona links

US Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu has told Ekstra Bladet that he dreams of joining Chelsea despite being linked to other clubs including Barcelona.

The Serie A side took the 18-year-old from FC Nordsjælland in 2022 and initially included him in their youth team before promoting him to their first team this season. Operating as a left-back, he has managed an assist from six games so far.

Back in June, his agent revealed Barcelona are one of the clubs following his client. Despite the La Liga side being keen on the defender, and Liverpool and Manchester City also being linked, he has his eyes set on making a switch to Chelsea in the future.

Patrick Dorgu is a chelsea fan

With many top clubs already named as possible options, the newspaper asked the player where he would prefer to move in the future.

Responding to that, Dorgu said: “Chelsea is my dream to play for.

I have been a fan of them for over 10 years,

So it would be a huge dream to play for them.”

The defender has a deal lasting until 2027,

As it stands there’s been no claims of interest from Chelsea in him.

It’s unlikely the Blues will look for another left-back in the near future, considering that position is well occupy by Ben Chilwell, Ian Maatsen and Marc Cucurella.

Therefore, Dorgu is really going to have to impress to catch their attention.

The man himself has, however, stated that he would relish an opportunity to grace the books at Stamford Bridge. Dorgu has told Ekstra Bladet: “Chelsea is my dream to play for.

I have been a fan of them for over 10 years,

So it would be a huge dream to play for them.”

Dorgu is ready to sign a contract in Italy through to the summer of 2027, meaning that Lecce are under no pressure to sell,

It appears unlikely that Chelsea will make an approach any time soon

They already have left-backs Ben Chilwell, Ian Maatsen and Marc Cucurella on their books.
