A deal no one would have expected or think off. Surprisingly South America is claiming that Manchester United agreed a deal to sign Gabriel Menino from Palmeiras in the summer window. It is quite shocking move from United and unusual too.
How we came to know about the Man United’s deal:
Premier League Brasil posted an exclusive story, where they clearly mentioned that Manchester United placed an £8m official bid for the signing . The club president Leila Pereira accepted the bid.
This is quite an shocking move from United because Menino is just 23 and not that impressive for Old Trafford.
Why Palmeiras accepted the bid?
Menino is very far from his peak and in that short career he had many ups and downs. And United management were very happy to negotiate.
But now United cannot do this deal because of some unrevealed problems of the club.
United’s POV:
Manchester’s analysis department recommended the midfielder and was seen as a ‘perfect element’ for Erik ten Hag’s side. He was more of a hole player type. Management sees him as a replacement for Eriksen for United.
But the club have some major problems apart from filling in that midfield. They have their ownership issues. Recently Glazers have been terminated and Jassim will have the majority of stake at the club.
However let’s see what happens to this deal. But it is quite unusual from Manchester because we don’t know them for investing into South American players. Hope they fix their midfield as well as focus on south american talents.
Because Spanish Giants are heavily focusing on them.
