Barcelona target Joao Felix might return to Stamford Bridge again

According to a report from 90min, Barcelona wants to sign Joao Felix with Chelsea may now challenge them for the services of the Portuguese international. Atletico Madrid may be willing to loan him away while the summer transfer market is still open. The Atletico Madrid forawrd, who cost Los Rojiblancos €126 million for his services, spent six months of the previous campaign on loan at Chelsea. But the majority of his performances fell short of his calibre.

Joao Felix will likely join Barcelona in a loan deal

Benfica academy product has netted 34 goals and provided 18 assists in 131 outings across all competitions for Atletico Madrid. Liverpool, Barcelona, Aston Villa are the clubs to show interest in the player. In addition, the 31-cap Portugal star also has offers from Saudi Pro League team Al Hilal. However Chelsea’s interest is likely bleak with the forward desiring a move to Camp Nou.

Even while his technical ability and coordination were impressive, he had trouble consistently scoring goals. It will be intriguing to see if Chelsea chooses to make him a long-term signing. Felix is by no means a prolific goal scorer, and the Blues need to sign someone who is capable of scoring goals regularly. Earlier this summer, Mauricio Pochettino chose not to pursue the player. However, Chelsea is reportedly thinking about making a move for the Atletico Madrid attacker after failing to sign Michael Olise. However Chelsea are also eyeing better options like Ansu Fati, Cole Palmer etc. Thus, a move to Stamford Bridge is unlikely.

There are rumours that Mohamed Salah could leave Liverpool. The Reds have repeatedly made it clear they do not have the 31-year-old up for sale. Thus, Liverpool might opt out from the race if Salah stays

Barcelona can choose from a variety of players to offload this summer. Thus, unless there are significant departures in terms of money, it is quite doubtful that they will attempt to sign the player. In recent weeks, the Spanish club has been involved in selling players like Ansu Fati and Alonso. Barcelona may not be able to buy Felix on a permanent basis given their current financial situation. It is reasonable to presume that any transfer to Camp Nou would only be on loan.

Barcelona intends to start negotiating a deal for him within the next 48 hours, and the board is trying to figure out how to do so while still adhering to Financial Fair Play regulations. However, Ansu Fati’s exit may create enough room for the Catalan giants to sign Joao Felix.
