Arsenal want to hijack Palhinha from Munich’s move for Premier League

Arsenal

Arsenal is expressing interest in Fulham star Palhinha following his failed transfer to Bayern Munich in the summer.

The midfielder was on the verge of moving to Bayern last summer and had completed his medical with the German club, only for the deal to collapse just before the transfer window closed.

Palhinha has continued to be a key player for Fulham this season,

Bouncing back from the disappointment of the failed transfer.

As Arsenal prepares to part ways with Thomas Partey, who has struggled with injuries and spent considerable time on the treatment table, they are considering a move for Palhinha.

Partey’s tenure at Arsenal is expect to conclude after this season, and the club is exploring replacements. Mirror Football suggests that Palhinha is on Arsenal’s radar.

Arsenal and Bayern are looking to go in a bidding war

While Bayern is likely to revisit their interest in the Portuguese midfielder in the next transfer window,

Arsenal is reportedly to compete for his signature.

Palhinha has been a fine midfielder in England and for him to attract the attention of a top club like Bayern, it shows he is a quality player.

Palhinha future is set to be contested in January after seeing his deadline day move to Bayern Munich collapse due to the Bundesliga window closing earlier than the Premier League. He has continued to shine for Marco Silva’s side this season – scoring a late leveller against Arsenal in August.

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Fulham have ‘signalled’ that they would allow Palhinha to leave for cheaper than the €65million (£56.6m) he came close to leaving for in August

Despite him signing a 12-month extension to his contract in September. Bayern remain interested but it’s says that Thomas Tuchel’s side will refuse to pay €60million (£52.3m) or more.

That leaves a door open for Arsenal and there’s enough reason for them to hijack the deal. First of all,

Just as he was last year for some time, Palhinha has completed the most combined tackles

And interceptions in the Premier League with 69 – 15 more than Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma.
