Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has said that he is not a big fan of January signing Jorginho. However, he has said that Jorginho looks more happy with the Gunners.
However, he has doubts about Jorginho succeeding with Gunners in the long-term. Although, it is also clear that the Italian midfielder is a great option to have.
ARSENAL LEGEND IS NOT A BIG FAN OF THE ITALIAN MIDFIELDER
Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has said he is not a big fan of Jorginho. The Gunners signed the Italian midfielder for 12 million. However, they signed because they could not sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton. Hence, many thought the club wasted money on the Italian midfielder. However, the midfielder is proving everyone wrong.
The new Arsenal January signing is starting to settle very quickly with the club. However, Emmanuel Petit continues to have his doubts. He further said, “I’m not a big fan of Jorginho and I think he’s very happy he’s left Chelsea’s dressing room ,all of a sudden he looks like a different player.” Hence, it looks like Chelsea were holding back the brilliant quality of Jorginho.
JORGINHO IS A VERY IMPORTANT PLAYER FOR THE GUNNERS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THIS SEASON AND THE NEXT SEASON
The Arsenal midfielder is a very important player for the team this season and the next season. This is because the Gunners are in a title race. Hence, they need someone experienced like Jorginho to help the young players not get too excited. Whereas, they will also need him next season so that the young players do not start having over-confidence.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is also a big fan of Jorginho. He has also admitted that he tried to sign Jorginho multiple teams. However, the Italian midfielder ended up going to Chelsea. Mikel Arteta also after signing him said, “He’s a player I’ve always admired. He’s a great character and he’s someone who is going to bring leadership and quality to that position. He’s going to help the team a lot. Timing-wise, it wasn’t that late. But he’s a player who has always been very close to our intentions to bring him in.”
Hence, Arsenal manager Arteta and the rest of the team will hope that Jorginho continues putting in brilliant performance. However, he is a doubt for the next game against Bournemouth. This is because Arteta has said that he was not feeling well after going off before the second half against Everton.
