Kieran Tierney

Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney has picked up a hamstring injury and could be out for up to 12 weeks, reports The Athletic.

The 26-year-old is currently on a season-long loan in La Liga with Real Sociedad having found himself out of favour under Gunners manager Mikel Arteta.

Tierney started life in the Spanish top-flight well, making five appearances across all competitions

And weighing in with an assist in the 1-0 victory over Valencia last Wednesday.

The former Celtic star sustained the current knock against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday

He was withdrawn 25 minutes into the game.

Tierney injury status

Tierney could now face between 10-12 weeks out with the injury and will stay at Sociedad to recover.

Injuries have regularly kept the 26-year-old on the treatment table since he joined Arsenal in 2019,

Missing a total of 48 games and being unavailable for selection for 284 days as a result of six separate problems.

Tierney was suffering from a hip problem at the time the Gunners signed him from the Scottish Premiership club,

Missing the early weeks of 2019-20 having undergone a double hernia operation in May 2019 and not making his debut until September.

The Scotland international missed 48 games and was unavailable for 242 days while at Celtic,

It appears his injury woes have continued after he went through last term without any major fitness problems.

Tierney has missed games due to a ruptured ankle ligament, a calf injury, a hip injury, a shoulder injury,

a groin injury, a knee injury, ankle problems, a knee surgery, a groin surgery and cals sclerosis,

And whether he will get to ever play for Arsenal again remains to be seen.

The Scotsman joined Real Sociedad as a result of falling down Mikel Arteta’s pecking order last term.

Tierney has faced many injury woes over the years leaving him uncertain about his future.

From being diagnosed with osteitis pubis in 2020 the Scotsman has feared his injuries would force him into retirement.
