Arsenal defender William Saliba will reportedly not play against Liverpool. This is also after he missed the win against Leeds United.
Hence, it looks like Arteta does not want to take any risks with his back injury. Therefore, it looks like Rob Holding will start another game.
ARSENAL WILL BACK THEMSELVES TO WIN AGAINST LIVERPOOL
Arsenal will definitely back themselves to win against Liverpool. This is after Chelsea dominated Liverpool last night at Stamford Bridge. However, the Blues failed to win the game because of poor finishing. Hence, Liverpool will feel fortunate to get a point from the game. However, the Gunners are top of the Premier League table.
Arsenal also have players that are scoring plenty of goals recently. Hence, Liverpool will have to defend well at their own home ground Anfield. Whereas, the fans will hope that Jurgen Klopp tells his team to attack the Gunners defence from minute one. Liverpool will also take encouragement from the recent injury updates on William Saliba.
WILLIAM SALIBA STILL RECOVERING FROM HIS INJURY
According to reports, Arsenal will again miss William Saliba because of his back injury. The report also claims that the French defender did not train with the team. However, Mikel Arteta has not revealed anything. He only said, “Back injuries are tricky but William and the medical staff are positive about it and he is so willing to be back in the team,”.
Hence, it is clear that the Arsenal manager is keeping his selection cards close to his chest. However, Mikel Arteta will hope that William Saliba recovers before the games against Manchester City and Chelsea at the end of the month. Whereas, the long term plan for the Gunners for Saliba is to convince him to sign a long-term contract with the club.
Arsenal will hope that Rob Holding plays well against Liverpool on 9th April. The defender has also performed well in the wins against Crystal Palace and Leeds United. They need someone like Rob Holding to keep playing well till Saliba recovers from his injury completely.
