Arsenal are heavily linked with Fikayo Tomori from AC Milan

Fikayo Tomori

Arsenal are showing an interest in AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori as they consider adding another centre back. Rob Holding has tried his best to fill in for the injured William Saliba. But it’s very clear that he isn’t quite on the same level. Jakub Kiwior came in as cover for Gabriel Magalhaes at left-sided centre back. But another option is needed on the right. Holding can’t be trusted in needed situations. If Arsenal need to progress they need to replace him.

Fikayo Tomori is a solid option for Arsenal and could be 1st choice as well

Arsenal were watching AC Milan games with real interest. It looks like they may now make a push to bring Tomori back to England this summer.

Tomori was sold by Chelsea for £25million . He is certainly a quality defender. He has really developed his defensive game since leaving Chelsea for Milan. It’s strange that he isn’t a bigger part of the England setup. Hailed as ‘faultless’ by Rio Ferdinand after holding Spurs and Harry Kane to a 0-0 draw in March, Tomori shackled the Tottenham superstar. That performance helped them qualify for the quater finals of the Champions League.

If the former Chelsea man is going to return to the Premier League, he would surely expect a starring role. He won’t be coming just competing with Saliba at Arsenal. He is more that good enough to start for the best clubs in the world.

Maybe this is the next step Arsenal need to take. They first add top-quality depth to Mikel Arteta’s squad to try and take down Manchester City. Arsenal are here to stay and challenge for the coming years. Arsenal is a club to watch out for. Saliba is still better one the best defenders in the league. Arsenal should be looking to get someone of similar quality.
