Journalist give inside report on Mason Mount Arsenal saga

Boehly Mount Chelsea

Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount this summer. It looks like the Gunners could get their man. Mount will enter the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge this July. As things stand, he is not even close enough to reaching an agreement with Chelsea over an extension. It has well and truly made him a wanted man.

€60 million midfielder Mason Mount could be on his way to a big club. He could be on his way to Arsenal along with Rice. He is also heavily linked with Liverpool. Mount, 24, will be out of contract at Stamford Bridge next summer. After rejecting Chelsea’s renewal offers, appears on course to move clubs this summer.

It is an open secret that Liverpool are looking to revamp their engine room for next season and have been linked with several targets ahead of the summer window.

One has to imagine that a move to the Emirates would be more alluring than a move to Anfield this summer. After all Champions League football return to Emirates next season. Mount is likely to want to stay in London having spent the vast majority of his life there.

Where Mount fits into this Arsenal team is unknown. He may not be defensively sound enough to fit into Granit Xhaka’s role. One would imagine that both Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli would be favoured in the attacking midfield spots that Mount can also occupy.

In a recent interview Paul Brown said-

“I’m pretty sure Mount is already considering a move to Arsenal.

“He knows the clubs that are interested in him, Arsenal are one of those. I think Arsenal would be another attractive club for Mount.”

Chelsea are in no rush to let the player leave. With the contract talks hitting a speed bump as of late. Liverpool won’t give up this transfer battle without a fight. Mason Mount would be a talent that would fit to any club. However, this is the best time to move in for a player like him. With contract talks on hold he is available for cheap than usual.
