Arsenal linked heavily with Loïs Openda and are ready to move quickly. Arsenal are likely set to improve their attack in the next transfer window. Their qualification for Champions League will mean a need for a better strength in depth. They will also need a proper backup for Gabriel Jesus could go a long way.
The links don’t stop when it comes to Loïs Openda and Arsenal
The forward has scored 17 league goals in 32 appearances. He also helped them out with three assists. That means he would be hard to replace if Arsenal took him away.
In a recent talk with L’Equipe he went on to say :-
“I know very well there’s a lot of noise, but I’m staying calm. I haven’t worked this hard to be distracted. It’s nice. It’s a sort of recognition, but I mustn’t listen to what’s being said. “
“The Ligue 1 player of the month award from March is in a cupboard. I’m under contract until 2027 with Lens. I’m very good here. I hope to write a page in the history of the club, leave a mark.”
On 6 July 2022, Lens announced the signing of Openda on a five year deal from Club Brugge. The striker scored his first goal against Inter Milan in a friendly game on 22 July 2022.On 28 October, he scored his first hat-trick for Lens in a 3–0 win over Toulouse. After eight matches without scoring, on 12 March 2023, he scored the fastest hat-trick in Ligue 1 within four minutes and 30 seconds in a 4–0 away win over Clermont Foot, beating previous record of Matt Moussilou.
The future looks well and truly bright for the forward. There have been a few warning signs that they will have to spend a fair bit of money. There is a €30m price floating around, as RC Lens aren’t overly keen on losing him.
