Antonio Conte keen on signing Romelu Lukaku if Harry Kane decides to leave the club

About Football Express UK

Antonio Conte is reportedly willing to sign Romelu Lukaku if Harry Kane leaves the club as per the report in Italian outlet Calciomercato(via Spurs Web).

The England captain was heavily linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last summer and Manchester City was reportedly keen on bringing the 28-year-old to the Etihad Stadium. However, Spurs didn’t allow their star man’s departure.

Having failed to engineer a move away from the north London club, Kane has been enduring a tough campaign this season, scoring five goals and assisting two times in 19 Premier League appearances.

The 28-year-old earlier revealed that he is happy at Spurs. And he is looking forward to working with the new manager Antonio Conte. Meanwhile, the north London club was eyeing a move for Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic. But he has now joined Juventus since.

According to the report, Tottenham Hotspur has now shifted their attention to Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku to replace Harry Kane if the 28-year-old decides to leave the club.

Will Conte be able to bring Romelu Lukaku to Tottenham Hotspur?

Romelu Lukaku will be a great signing for Antonio Conte. The duo has already worked together at Inter Milan and has enjoyed great success last term. Therefore, the north Londoners will be hoping that the Belgian can replicate the same performance if Spurs can sign the Chelsea man.

Meanwhile, Harry Kane has looked short in fitness this season and also looks like he has lost pace. So, it might be a shrewd decision from the Spurs management to cash in on their star asset. However, it will be interesting to see if the two London rivals would be willing to do business or not.

The Belgian forward has been struggling to showcase his best this season since joining the Stamford Bridge club for a huge fee. Thomas Tuchel might not be by the display of Lukaku this season. Therefore, he could be interested in doing a swap deal where Kane might go the other way. So, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for both big-name strikers.
