West Ham transfer-list midfielder after the altercation with David Moyes

Celtic Manchester United

West Ham could finally sell a midfielder, but it’s not Declan Rice. The Hammers have reportedly decided to sell his partner, Tomas Soucek. According to Football Insider, the midfielder has had an altercation with manager David Moyes. As a result, the club is looking to sell him this summer. However, West Ham wanting to sell Soucek is nothing new as there were rumors earlier as well that the club is anticipating an offer for the Czech international.

But this summer, there are high possibilities that Soucek leaves West Ham for another club. Soucek has been one of the crucial players for Moyes, but the midfielder could be on his way out in the coming weeks.

Tomas Soucek joined West Ham in January 2020 on loan till the end of the season from Slavia Prague. The midfielder played 13 games for West Ham, scoring thrice. The Hammers, impressed with Soucek’s performances decided to make his stay permanent. West Ham paid Slavia £15 million, on top of the £4 million loan fee for Soucek at the end of the 2019/20 season. Since then, Soucek has cemented his spot in the starting eleven and has been rarely dropped by Moyes. However, the recent bust-up could turn things around sorely.

West Ham to listen to offers for the midfielder

Football Insider have reported about the bust-up between the West Ham midfielder and the manager. However, the reason or the extent of the argument is still unknown. But the Hammers are ready to back their manager and have transfer-listed Soucek. West Ham could listen to any offers made for Soucek this summer, despite the midfielder having two more years on his current deal. But the club could keep Soucek if Moyes and the midfielder iron out their differences.

Soucek has amalgamated himself perfectly in Moyes’ system. It would be rather difficult for West Ham to replace the 27-year-old midfielder. Soucek has so far made 105 appearances for the Londoners, netting an impressive 19 goals and further providing 2 assists. The Czech player has formed a solid partnership with Declan Rice in the midfield helping West Ham to back-to-back seasons in European football. Further on, the midfielder has posted 1.9 tackles, 2.8 clearances, 1.1 dribbles, and a massive 3.8 aerial duels won per game in his 35 Premier League games this season. Soucek was also instrumental in the hammers making it to the Europa League semi-finals this year.

However, this is not the first time Soucek’s exit rumors have been heard. Back in March as well, the midfielder was heavily tipped to leave West Ham in the summer. It was being reported that Moyes was not happy with Soucek’s efforts this season. The manager felt the midfielder had performed below his regular standards despite having an excellent EURO tournament. Moreover, Soucek as well felt that the club undermined his importance. And therefore no longer wanted to continue at the club.

Nonetheless, West Ham are ready to hear offers for the midfielder this summer. Soucek’s market value stands at £40 million and West Ham wants a fee in that range. Many of the Premier League clubs have already registered their interest in Soucek as a player of his caliber for £40 million would be a bargain. Furthermore, this recent bust-up with Moyes could be the end of the road for Soucek at West Ham.
