West Ham cling to victory as they end Liverpool’s unbeaten run.

About Football Express UK

West Ham defeated Liverpool in a thrilling encounter. The Hammers secured three points after holding onto their three-goal lead.

Liverpool last lost against Real Madrid in Santiago Bernabeu seven months ago. David Moyes has led the club in an unbelievable direction.

Liverpool’s midfield was not of much use yesterday. Pablo Fornals and Said Benrahma made threatening passes and dribbles without much difficulty.

Virgil Van Dijk was good in his one vs one duel. He faced Michail Antonio twice, one on one but his defensive brilliance was not enough.

Mohammad Salah was unable to create or score a solo goal. The Liverpool forwards were ineffective up until Divock Origi scored. They were rendered helpless as they had many half chances. The rest of these shots on goal were saved brilliantly.

Despite conceding twice, Kurt Zouma, a quite experienced defender, helped the Hammers. He scored a great header against them.

Fabianski, unlike Allison, did not make any crucial mistakes. Huge credit to West Ham but Liverpool were under pressure because of Allison’s mistake.

Jurgen Klopp expresses his thoughts after the match.

Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp made some comments against the referee. The gaffer was furious because of the referee’s decision.

Jurgen Klopp stated that I think it’s a clear foul on Alisson, how can it not be? The arm from Ogbonna is there,” Klopp said.

“I don’t know who was VAR today and we always have to say in the game maybe the ref can’t see that but when you see the dynamic of the whole situation, they’re in each other – how can that not be a foul already?

What went wrong for Liverpool as West Ham beat them?

Despite the Hammers beating Liverpool, the Scousers dominated them the entire game. They had a staggering 16 shots on target out of which 5 were on target. They even had 70% ball possession.[Source: Sofascore]

Liverpool suffered as Allison made two silly mistakes. The entire fault does not go to Allison as their defence is also to be blamed. The Scousers conceded two goals from set-pieces[corners]. After Allison made a mistake, Liverpool had to play under pressure. Despite Trent equalising for them, West Ham were in front again.

The Scousers failed to finish their chances as West Ham also displayed a great defensive performance.

What’s next for Liverpool and West Ham as they return from the international break.
