Liverpool took on Villareal away in the second leg of the Champions League quarter finals. Liverpool ended up winning 3-2 coming back after being 2-0 down at half time. They are through to the final on aggregate 5-2. Here are the Liverpool player ratings.
Liverpool Starting XI
Defense
Allison – Allison conceded twice however he could not do much about it. The whole team was lackluster and heading for a loss until Luiz Dias was brought in.

Trent Alexander-Arnold – Difficult game for the youngster. Not at his usual best as he lost possession a lot. Most of his passes were wayward and off target.

Ibrahima Konate – A shaky first half as he conceded two goals and was not at his usual best. Looked dominating in the second.

Virgil Van Dijk – Arguably the best defender in the world. However even the best have off days and this was one of them.

Andy Robertson – Robertson has been tremendous this season however he produced his worst performance of the season here.

Midfield
Fabinho – Fabinho was the most decent Liverpool midfielder however he was unable to control the midfield as he usually does. However he scored the opener for Liverpool and changed the tides for them in the second half.

Thiago : Had an average gaming. Being wayward with his passes and unable to reproduce his magic in Spain.

Naby Keita – Arguably his worst performance at Liverpool by giving the worst 45 minutes for Liverpool. Was wasteful and almost conceded a penalty for Liverpool. However made it up in the second half by showing his best. Wonder what kind of pep talk Pep gave.

Mohamed Salah – Salah is one of the best players in the world and can be counted on to bring his best performance in big matches. However, This was the exact opposite performance. Did assist Fabinho’s goal.

Sadio Mane – Mane was the best player out of the starting XI. Run havoc in the second half after a quiet first game. Scored the third goal to complete the comeback.

Diego Jota : Jota is unremarkable in games where he does not score. He provides nothing beside his goals. Jota needs to up his game or he might find his spot threatened.

Subs
Luiz Dias – Dias came on in the second half and changed the match on its head. Spearheaded a number of attacks and looked real threatening. Scored the second goal for Liverpool as well. Rightfully man of the match.
