Manchester United are pushing towards Marc Cucurella before the window closes.
Fabrizio Romano reported at Saturday night that Manchester United are in talks with Chelsea for Marc Cucurella. The talks are in advanced stages as reported by Romano.
Manchester United are in a desperate search in transfer market for a left back, as both Luke Shaw , their primary left back and Tyrell Malacia, their secondary left back both are injured.
So, United are in some serious trouble as they haven’t got any backup for that particular position .
Why both Chelsea and Marc Cucurella want this deal?
A year ago , the Blues paid 62 million to bring him from Brighton. But after coming to Chelsea he was played at left back , which was not his natural position back then. He has not lived up to the expectations and the changes in coaches, strategies have separated him from the squad.
Also in this season , under Pochetinho , he hasn’t got a single minute in their opening games.
The Spaniard is heavily looking forward to this deal as he will finally get some game time .
As reported by Fabrizio Romano , Chelsea are in open talks with Chelsea.
He says “Understand Chelsea are open to letting Cucurella leave on loan but only at their conditions (loan fee/salary coverage).”
Chelsea are ready to sell him because of their wages, they have too many big names on their squad . So managing everyone isn’t as easy as it looks. And United have that fund to take this player to Old Trafford.
Why United choose Cucurella over any other player?
Cucurella isn’t at his best form as he was when playing for the seagulls. Back then he was less injury prone, more efficient on the ball and more of a hole player than he is right now.
In previous year’s Premier League Brighton defeated Manchester United by 4-0, in that match Cucurella was a key player and scored a goal.
His defensive ability, position holding play, adapting ability, distribution makes him ahead of any other fullbacks at the prem.
Under Eric Ten Hag he can grow and improve his skills. He can definitely improve team’s defense and provide some key points in the title race.
