Sue Smith have nothing but praise for Gabriel Jesus and believes that he has a lot of influence in the dressing room.
Even though he has not scored in the past 11 games for Arsenal, he surely led the line so well. Dragging the defenders toward so that space can be created for players like Odegaard, and Martinelli to score more goals.
Sue Smith on Sky sports said that it’s a joy to watch Arsenal, especially with Jesus leading the attack.
“At this moment in time, Arsenal have been the most consistent side. In terms of getting results, putting in performances. They’re a team you want to turn the table on and watch. They’re brilliant,”
Smith said.
“Jesus might not be scoring but look how influential he is. And I think bringing him in and Zinchenko to a degree, it’s that winning mentality. They’re used to winning and challenging for things and that also comes into the dressing room then and they can pass on their experience.”
Jesus was a marquee signing done by the Gunners this season. They also signed Zinchenko who played a crucial role until his injury forced him to take a break.
Jesus’s influence on the team
It would be a dream for Jesus to move from Manchester City to Arsenal and lead them back to their glory days.
Despite not scoring much, he is an important and key player for the team. He is playing the role of a leader which was missing from Gunner’s side for so long.
Arsenal are currently 5 points clear on the first position and would love to continue challenging for the title like this only.
The main concern for Arsenal will be the World Cup. They surely don’t want Jesus to return with an injury. Jesus’s presence is necessary for the team and his absence can surely cause problems for the team.
