As per The Sun, To fill in for the Belgian, Real Madrid moved quickly and wisely to sign Chelsea custodian Kepa Arrizabalaga on a season-long loan.

Real Madrid will pay £17.5 million for Kepa

Real Madrid is prepared to negotiate with Chelsea for a long-term contract for Kepa.

However, they refuse to part with the Spanish keeper for a transfer fee that is greater than £17.5 million.

Even Kepa is also a good fit in the Real Madrid starting lineup. And Real Madrid could look to bring in Kepa on a permanent deal.

The contract for Andriy Lunin is coming to an end this year. The 24-year-old might need to leave Santiago Bernabeu and get playing time in order to advance his career.

Hence, Real Madrid will have a need of substitute goalie before courtois’s back. And based on Chelsea loanee’s performance, Los Blancos are considering kepa.

Kepa’s permanent signing shouldn’t prove to be a challenging transaction. Next summer, the Spaniard’s contract with Chelsea will expire after one year.

Naturally, Chelsea would suffer a significant loss if the Spaniard, who they signed for approximately £71.6 million from Athletic Bilbao, were to leave for a £17.5 million transfer fee. Let’s observe how things happen.
