Nicolo Zaniolo of AS Roma is once again on the summer target list of Tottenham Hotspur. Tottenham retained their interest in Roma winger Nicolo Zaniolo. As a result, the North London giants could prepare an offer in the summer.
As per Calciomercato, Tottenham has once again shown its interest in Nicolo Zaniolo. The Spurs could launch an offer for him in the summer window. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur director Fabio Paratici could be key to luring him for a move to England.
Antonio Conte hoped that the Spurs board to improve the squad’s quality in January drastically. The primary target of the manager was to sign a wide attacker. Meanwhile, Spurs managed to sign Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus for that role.
However, they suffered setbacks in their pursuit to sign their top targets. They had to give up their aspirations of signing Adama Traore and Luis Diaz.
Conte was interested in signing another wide attacker for the club after Dejan Kulusevski. One of the targets for the window was Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo. The Spurs management was rumoured to keep a close eye on the winger in this transfer window.
The 22-year-old signed a five year deal with AS Roma in 2018 for €4.5m. The Italian international has scored 12 goals for them in 72 appearances with Roma.
Nicolo Zaniolo’s possibility of the move
Tottenham had a decent January transfer window. Spurs dipped into the Italian market to get hold of two quality players to boost their squad options. Kulusevski was followed out of Juventus along with Rodrigo Bentancur. Both of them joined Spurs in a permanent transfer.
Tottenham’s recent transfers suggest there is a huge Serie A connection. Paratici’s influence was key to bringing both Kulusevski and Bentancur to the club. As a result, Spurs’ sporting director could yet again be key to bringing Zaniolo to the club in the summer.
On the other hand, Zaniolo has a contract with Roma until the summer of 2024. This will surely enable the Italians to dictate his price. However, the club is facing difficulties in renewing its deal.
This could lead to the possibility of a sale with the Italian capital club struggling financially. Meanwhile, Tottenham is expected to go back with an offer in the summer. So, it would be a tricky transfer deal to complete. Apart from Spurs, several Serie A clubs including Juventus are monitoring his situation.
