News: Thomas Tuchel breaks silence after Chelsea sacking

About Football Express UK

Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has finally broken silence after the sacking by the new members of the board last week.

The Blues have appointed Brighton manager Graham Potter as the new head coach to take over the new project. Chelsea had a mixed start to the season with dismal performances against Southampton and Leeds United in the Premier League.

The nail in the coffin for Tuchel was the 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb in the first Champions League outing this season. Todd Boehly, the new owner of Chelsea, decided to part ways with Tuchel and appoint a new manager for the rest of the season.

It goes without saying that Tuchel was left spellbound by the rather harsh decision made by the club. It is understood that the German international asked the new owners for ‘more time’ at Chelsea to make a comeback.

However, Boehly’s stern decision has left Tuchel ‘devastated’ and ‘shocked’ as it did to many fans of the Blues. Moreover, it was only after a few days that Tuchel took to Twitter to release an emotional statement following the sacking.

The statement read-

“This is the one of the most difficult statements I have ever had to write. And it is one I hoped I would not need to do for many years,”

“I am devastated that my time at Chelsea has come to an end. This is a club where I felt at home, both professionally and personally.

Thank you so much to all the staff, the players and the supporters for making me feel very welcome.

“The pride and joy I felt at helping the team to win the Champions League and the Club World Cup will stay with me forever. I am honoured to have been a part of this club’s history. The memories of the last 19 months will always have a special place in my heart.”
