Mauricio Pochettino has said that Christopher Nkunku will be on the bench against Wolves. Moreover, the coach thinks that Nkunku needs some more time to be on the starting 11. Till then, he can be used as a reliable substitute for the blues. Chelsea will travel to Wolverhampton on Christmas Eve to play in the premier league matchup. Moreover, the away fans would be expecting Nkunku to start. The 26 year old Frenchman made his debut against Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup last week. Although he played only for 20 minutes, he has a positive impact on the team and the fans. Furthermore, his return to the pitch has boosted the morale of the team.

According to Chelseachronicle, Mauricio Pochettino gave the update on Christopher Nkunku on Chelsea’s official YouTube channel.

“We need to be patient. We need to give him time. He was brave enough to take the spot kick in the Carabao Cup and score it. However he needs time to get back into his full capacity. Starting him against Wolves? I think we should not hurry as he’s just out of his recovery phase. Let’s give him some time and then we can figure out the right time to start him in the coming times”. – Mauricio Pochettino said.

Mauricio Pochettino has said that Nkunku needs some time to adapt himself in the conditions of the premier league.

Although Nkunku made his debut against Newcastle United and played for 20 minutes, he still hasn’t reached his full potential in England. Well, that’s quite obvious as the Frenchman was out from the team for almost half of the season. Now that when he’s back, he needs some time to adapt to the environment of the premier league matches. We can’t expect him to start scoring goals or take on multiple defenders at a time from the first day itself. Slowly and steadily he’ll gain back his confidence and that’ll allow him to get back in form.
