Chelsea

Chelsea defender Malang Sarr has decided to leave the club in the January transfer window. The Frenchman wants regular playing time. Moreover, he’s just a squad player at the Stamford Bridge. He hasn’t even played a game as a substitute for Chelsea this season. In addition to that, the 24 year old defender has only featured in 21 games for Chelsea since his arrival in 2020 from Ligue on club OGC Nice. Sarr wants a loan or a permanent move in January. He just wants regular playing time and that he’s not getting at Chelsea. Sarr only played for Chelsea in the 2021-22 season wherein he made 8 appearances for the blues.

As per footballinsider247, Sarr arrived to Chelsea from OGC Nice in the August of 2020 for free after his contract with the French Club was over. However, he was a noticeable player at France where he made 119 appearances for Nice. He played there for 4 seasons, having 3 assists and 3 goals to his name. However, he didn’t have the same time at London. While he was at Chelsea, he was loaned 2 times to Porto and Monaco. Whe he was at Monaco last season, he picked up an injury and couldn’t feature in the French club’s last 10 league matches.

Malang Sarr has decided to get some regular playing time rather than being a bench player.

Sarr was mostly on the bench for his last 3 clubs, namely Chelsea, Porto and Monaco. Moreover, that has been a major blow to his confidence. He needs regular playing time in order to gain confidence and develop as a player. As per the recent reports, there are interests from the Turkish clubs for the 6ft. French defender. In addition to that, Chelsea would let him go if the terms are agreed on both the player’s and club’s side.
