Martinelli or Luis Diaz : Pundits have their pick for a combined eleven

Anton Ferdinand and Danny Murphy were discussing a combined lineup of current Arsenal and Liverpool squad on The Take On. Danny Murphy had suggested earlier that he would pick Liverpool’s front three over Arsenal’s attack. Danny felt that Luis Diaz will be a better option ahead of gabriel Martinelli in the combined lineup of both teams. Whereas, Ferdinand disagreed with his choice. He felt that despite the quality of the Columbian, Martinelli is just on another level for him. He said,

“I’m going to say this, I love Diaz. I love what he stands for, everything he does, he’s got that star quality. Superstar quality I think. And he’s come in and filled Mane’s shoes and done it really well, But Martinelli man, seriously, he gets me off my seat.”

Martinelli vs Luis Diaz : Who’s better?

Gabriel Martinelli has been impressive for the Gunners since his arrival in 2019. He has scored 36 goals and given 22 assists in 147 appearances for Arsenal. The winger is only 22 years old and he has already been established as a star for the London club. However, the Brazilian has only scored three goals in all competitions so far, including one in the Premier League this season.

The Columbian also hasn’t impressed this season with his performance. Although, he was occupied with personal issues, which obviously didn’t help him to concentrate on the game. But he has scored 11 goals in 42 league games since his £37 million move from Portuguese side FC Porto. Some of these goals came in crucial moments for the Reds.

Both pundits had clearly different opinions on their preference between the two. But, both of these players are young and have huge potential for their future. It’s up to their performance and consistency that will determine their future as world class wingers.
