Manchester City Vs Nottingham Forest: Preview and Line-ups

Arsenal Team

Manchester City will lock horns with newly promoted Nottingham Forest as they play their fifth fixture at home in the Etihad stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s men sit second on the table just behind Arsenal and have not lost a single game yet. The Cityzens will hope to maintain the winning streak and hit the top of the table for the first time this season.

Whereas, Nottingham Forest come into this fixture after having lost 2-0 to Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur last weekend. The newly promoted side faces a tricky outing against City as they are deemed to go the underdogs this match.

Predicted Line-ups: Manchester City v Nottingham Forest

The visitors could line up in the 3-4-2-1 formation against City at the Etihad with Taiwo Awoniyi leading the frontline. Morgan Gibbs-White and Brennan Johnson will play just behind Awoniyi to help with the attack in the final third.

Manager Steve Cooper may not have many options in the attack to press high but will look to apply pressure. Orel Mangala, Moussa Niakhate, and Omar Richards are all out injured and will be on the sidelines till they recover.

Whereas, Kalvin Phillips, Jack Grealish, and Nathan Ake are also recovering from their injuries and could be out against Forest. Guardiola has a lot to offer when it comes to depth in attack with his main man being Erling Haaland.

Also, Manchester City will mostly use the usual 4-3-3 formation with Haaland playing as the striker to earn them the goals. Moreover, the Blue side of Manchester play the home fixture as the favourites and will look to comfortably seal three points.

Predicted Line-ups

Manchester City XI- Ederson; Walker, Dias, Stones, Cancelo; Gundogan, Rodri, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Haaland, Foden

Nottingham Forest XI- Henderson; Worrall, Cook, McKenna; Williams, Yates, Freuler, Toffolo; Johnson, Gibbs-White; Awoniyi
