Liverpool’s stadium extension will be a huge boost for them ahead of their clash against Manchester United on Sunday. Moreover, the Reds would be aiming for a win against Man United to strengthen their league leader position. Liverpool City council has given the club the license for opening the upper section of the Anfield road stand. Liverpool have just conducted the safety test for the new stand. Local ground safety advisory has given them permission to use the stand on Sunday against Man United. Furthermore, the club is making sure that all the safety measures are taken before Sunday’s clash.

According to caughtoffside, the new stand is going to increase the stadium capacity to 57,000. Moreover, that’s the highest number of capacity for Anfield since 1973. After a long period of 50 years, the club is finally expanding their home. However, that number is still 4,000 less than the stadium’s full capacity. But that will not matter much as the extra 7,000 fans are going to cheer up the club with full enthusiasm. The full stand is opening after the new year. Liverpool City council will meet again in January to review the safety standards for the new stand before giving a green flag to it’s use.

Liverpool’s stadium extension is going to be a confidence boost for the team on Sunday.

As we have already discussed, Anfield will see the largest crowd in 50 years. Furthermore, the presence of home fans at the new stand is going to be of a great help for the Reds. Liverpool are the current league toppers. They would want to maintain their lead on Sunday. And for this, they need their fans as the 12th man. In addition to that, this new stand will be of great help in champions league home matches when the team will need support of the home fans.
