The Champions League group stage was concluded this Wednesday and every team will now be looking forward to the round of 16 draws on Monday.
Liverpool escaped PSG as their possible opponent in the round of 16 as the French champions finished second in their group.
Liverpool finished second in their group with the chance of drawing PSG in the round of 16.
However, PSG were denied the chance of top after Benfica’s 6-1 victory. They secured the first position on the basis of away goals scored.

Potential opponents of Premier League teams in the round of 16
Teams cannot draw teams from their respective leagues or groups so the limited opponents available for Liverpool are Real Madrid, Porto, Bayern Munich, and Benfica.
City’s potential opponents are Inter Milan, Club Brugge, Eintracht Frankfurt, AC Milan, RB Leipzig, and PSG.
Chelsea will be preparing for a tie against Club Brugge, Inter, Frankfurt, Leipzig, Dortmund, or PSG.
Tottenham’s potential opponents are Brugge, Inter, AC Milan, Leipzig, Dortmund, and PSG.
PSG are still yet to lift the European cup and would look forward to ending this drought this season. The form seems to make them favorable to win the tournament.
They have one of the most dangerous front three as Mbappe, Neymar and Messi combined scored 40 goals this season. We are still in November only.
PSG is undefeated this season as they won 16 out of their 20 games. They are currently at the top in Ligue 1. They picked up 14 points this season in the champions league. It is more than group leaders Ports, Real Madrid, and Spurs.
Liverpool although have the same record as they claimed 15 points in the group stage. Even though they still won’t be facing PSG, they can still draw Real Madrid.
Klopp’s Reds were defeated by Real Madrid 3 times. 2 of them in the 2018 & 2022 finals. Madrid also knocked them out in the quarter-finals in the 2019-20 season.
