Liverpool ‘serious’ about signing midfielder in January

Liverpool

Liverpool have climbed the top of table in the Premier League with continued good performances. But they are still in a tight title race with arsenal and Man City. To get the edge over the Gunners and the City side, the Reds are planning a transfer in January. Liverpool think that this signing could provide them with extra defensive stability in the midfield. They are looking to bring in a long-time transfer target Khephren Thuram from OGC Nice. Liverpool were trying to sign a defensive midfielder since past months but their targets Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia were signed by Chelsea. But according to Calciomercato, Liverpool are “serious” about bringing in Frenchman Khephren Thuram this transfer window. The 22-year-old has performed consistently well for the French side in the defensive midfield position. And Calciomercato reports that Liverpool are serious about signing the Frenchman in January transfer window.

Liverpool to sign Khephren Thuram in January

Son of World Cup winner Lilian Thuram, Khephren already has what it needs to be playing for Liverpool in the Premier League. The young midfielder has a intelligent presence off the ball and defensive awareness when having the ball. Including physical attributes to shield the ball form opposition during play. Transfermarkt values Thuram at €40 million, but it’s up to the French club Nice to decide a final price tag. Liverpool lack a defensive midfield option in the middle of the park and Thuram can be a perfect fit for them. The Reds are also looking for a defender to strengthen their backline in the January transfer window. Liverpool have a stellar squad who are more than deserving to win the Premier League this season, but they are up against Arsenal and City who have equally good squad.
