Liverpool player practice with the senior squad, ahead of Merseyside derby

Liverpool

Harvey Davies, a young goalkeeper for Liverpool, was called up to train with the starting lineup this week.

The Merseyside Derby on Monday will be a chance for the Reds to avenge their heartbreaking loss to Wolves on Saturday. To that end, some encouraging news was sent to Jurgen Klopp on Thursday. Virgil van Dijk, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino, and Arthur Melo were all spotted working out again.

Likewise, Davies was. The 19-year-old was hanging out with Alisson Becker and company yesterday, however there is little possibility he will be in goal for Liverpool against Everton.

For the young player to have a chance against Everton, something terrible would need to happen. Despite this, Marcelo Pitaluga’s present injury necessitates his attendance.

Liverpool gets good news on injuries

It seemed like Liverpool had not received any positive news in a while before Thursday.

Finally, Jota, Firmino, and Van Dijk have made their long-awaited returns. The Reds have recently suffered greatly by the absence of all three players, despite their various lengths of injuries. Since they are on the team, Liverpool ought to be performing better than they have recently.

Arthur’s return to action after such a long break was also fantastic. I’m hoping he can pick up and contribute to this failing Liverpool team.

In other areas, Klopp still needs to focus on organising his midfield. Against Wolves, the centre of the pitch wasn’t necessarily a problem, but they still had trouble.

The manager must now come up with the best combination because all of his possibilities now fit.

Recently, youthful Stefan Bajcetic has appeared to be included in that. The young Spaniard was working hard during yesterday’s practise for Liverpool and will probably start his third straight Premier League game.
