Liverpool on the lookout for Bundesliga midfielder Manu Kone

Liverpool

Fabrizio Romano indicates the possibility of Liverpool making a renewed attempt to acquire Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone. The Reds were previously in link with the young talent. Meanwhile, Romano’s hint suggests that there might be further interest from Liverpool in securing his services.

On Twitter, Fabrizio Romano playfully alluded to the idea that Liverpool might consider revisiting their pursuit of the French young talent. Kone has recently resumed training after a period of injury that kept him sidelined for much of the summer. This suggestion hints at the possibility of Liverpool continuing their interest despite the player’s recent injury setback.

Prior to the start of the transfer window, Manu Kone’s name was frequently in association with a potential move to Liverpool. This interest stemmed from his impressive performances. Those solidified his reputation as one of the most promising midfield talents in Germany while playing for Borussia Monchengladbach.

Unfortunately, he suffered a setback in the form of an injury. Hence, it sidelined the 22-year-old from participating in pre-season activities and France’s U-21 Euros campaign. This development led to decreased interest from clubs like Liverpool. Since, the injury raised uncertainties about Kone’s availability and readiness for a potential move.

Liverpool needs to hurry up if they want to sign Manu Kone

With Manu Kone having returned to training, Liverpool might consider revisiting their interest in the player. This consideration could be influenced by recent events, such as Chelsea’s signings of Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo. The developments with these other midfield options might prompt Liverpool to explore their interest in Kone once again.

Mark Schwarzer has heaped praise on Manu Kone, describing him as a “phenomenal” talent. Kone’s qualities align well with what the English club is seeking in a defensive midfield addition during this transfer window.

Although he may not be a perfect fit for the traditional defensive midfield role, Manu Kone’s potential and his valuable experience at Borussia Monchengladbach could make him a suitable alternative for Liverpool. Especially considering their recent misses in the pursuit of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.
