Darwin Nunez joined Liverpool at a big price tag and so far has failed to deliver on that level.
Against what the odds favor at the start of the season, Nunez is not a starter and has to compete with an in-form Robert Firminho.
Things do not seem good for the Uruguayan striker and the transfer links only make it worse.
Liverpool to target attackers
The reds have shortlisted some attackers which may completely take up Nunez’s spot.
The first name on the list is Wilfred Zaha. The Crystal Palace left-wing is having a brilliant season and adding him will be a boost for the Liverpool side.
His current deal will expire at the end of the season and his transfer seems imminent.
Jurgen Klopp is a great admirer of Zaha and Zaha would also like to join Liverpool. If the deal goes through then the current form of Nunez will lead him to get benched.
The other super signing that the reds have scouted is Kylian Mbappe. PSG striker is once again is in the mind to leave the Ligue 1 title winner and what’s a better option than Liverpool and having a mini rivalry with Haaland.
Klopp is a huge admirer of Kylian Mbappe, although he never officially made an approach for the player during his time in charge
Having signed a new contract this year only, the signing going forward seems less probable but if this happens then it’s a piece of bad news for Nunez.
If Nunez not improves and gets to the team’s standards then the exit is not far away for him.
