Liverpool could earn £14m payout from UEFA

About Football Express UK

Liverpool could earn £14m from UEFA. However, to be more specific, they are on the verge of earning £14m from Uefa Europa League group stage.

Jurgen Klopp’s side is currently holding a 100 % record in the competition so far after recording wins against LASK and Union Saint-Gilloise in the first two matchdays. Sitting top of Group E, the Reds are now hot favorites to finish first and qualify for the group stages of the UEL.

Liverpool could earn £14m:

As per official Uefa documents for the 2023/24 season, Liverpool could earn £14million or as much as that if they do finish top of their group.

Each of the 32 sides that reached the group stages were awarded a qualification fee of £3.1million.

Every win recorded in the group stage is then worth an additional £550,000, meaning Liverpool have already added £1.1million to their account with four games yet to play.

However, draws in the group stage are also worth £180,000 each.

If Liverpool holds onto the top spot, they will earn prize money of £1million, while qualification to the round of 16 is an extra £1million to add to the prize pool.

Liverpool will also benefit from hosting European fixtures at Anfield, with fans easily filling the venue’s 54,000 capacity on Thursday nights.

Each home match is worth an estimated value of nearly £2.5million, meaning the club will earn a guaranteed £7.5million from all group matches.

Overall, calculations say that Liverpool could earn £14million if they top in their Europa League group this season.

That figure will also rise depending on the amount of wins gained in the remaining four matches. As the prize value is directly proportional to the number of wins they bag at the end of the group stage. And to win that much money, they’ll have to retain the top position of group E winning all the remaining matches.
