Liverpool are favourites to sign the young Brazilian defender.

Liverpool are known for their attacking prowess in the European football. It’s because of this attack that the Reds have won almost all major trophy possible out there. Moreover, the club recruits young talents and then turns them into world class players. However, you can’t only depend on the attack if you want to win a game. Defensive unit is a must for all teams. It’s because of this defensive issues that Liverpool are regularly conceding goals even in the matches that they’ve won. They are having a tough time to keep the clean sheet. However, the matter is being looked upon. As per the recent reports, Liverpool are favourites to sign young Brazilian defender Lucas Beraldo.

As per caughtoffside, the 20 year old is currently very famous in Brazil. Beraldo can play as a right centre back as well as a left centre back. If that’s not enough, the youngster is versatile enough to adapt to the role of a defensive midfielder. As we already know that Liverpool are struggling for a proper number 6. Due to this reason, performance of Alexis Mac Allister is effected because he’s playing in an unfamiliar position. Because of that very reason, Mac Allister plays well for Argentina and struggles as a defensive midfielder at the club.

Why Liverpool are favourites to sign Lucas Beraldo?

As we already know, Joe Matip’s contract is about to end at Liverpool. However, he’s not extended his contract. In addition to that, Matip is getting attraction from the middle east. That boils down to the fact that Liverpool have only 2 reliable defenders at the moment. They are Virgil Van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate. The pair is a nightmare for any attacking lineups throughout Europe. That’s why Liverpool are going for Lucas Beraldo. He’s an added advantage of his age just being 20 years old. He can provide a strong backup for Van Dijk and Konate.
