Levi Colwill hails teammate to be ‘one of the best midfielders’

About Football Express UK

According to Levi Colwill, Moises Caicedo of Chelsea has the potential to become one of the world’s best midfielders. 21-year old Moises Caicedo just made a notable transfer from Brighton to Stamford Bridge. In fact, Sky Sports reports that the Blues paid a British record amount of £115 million to sign the highly touted youngster. Caicdeo played alongside Blues center-back Levi Colwill last year while Colwill was on loan at Brighton. Colwill has praised his teammate’s abilities since the two have reunited in the Chelsea lineup.

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill praises Moises Caicedo

“I think anyone that watched him last season knows how good of a player he is,” Colwill said via talkSPORT.

Colwill further predicts that the Ecuador international is going to be one of the best midfielders in the world. He says, “In my opinion, he was worth every pound that was spent on him. I think he is going to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and the world.”

“I don’t doubt that. Playing with him last season you just rely on him. Even when I know I have made a mistake, I have always known he is there to cover me in midfield. Some of the passes I gave to him were terrible and he still saved me and made me look good!”

“Yeah, he is a very good player and him in this team alongside the other amazing players we have got, it is going to work well. Yeah, I am happy he is here.”

Although his debut last week in Chelsea’s loss to West Ham wasn’t quite easy, fans are eager to see more of the all-action centre midfielder. People will be monitoring Caicedo intently to see if he can live up to the high price tag. But the player has little influence over anything outside of the field of play.
He should provide the Blues XI with plenty of running power because he is an incredibly effective midfielder when not in possession of the ball. In the next Premier League match between Chelsea and Luton Town on Friday night at Stamford Bridge, Caicedo is set to start. Thus, he will have the chance to prove his worth with Colwill in charge of defense.
