Joshua Kimmich wants to leave Bayern Munich this summer. He wants to try a new experience this summer. Barcelona are said to be the favourites to sign him if he decides to leave. Bayern Munich obviously want to keep him but wouldn’t stand in his way if he were to leave this summer.
Joshua Kimmich and his likely destinations
Manchester City have expressed an interest in signing Arsenal transfer target Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich. Pep Guardiola’s club are also confident about the German. He played under Pep for a few seasons in Bayern. It was Pep Guardiola who made him into the player he is now.
Etihad Stadium chiefs have moved to hold talks with their Bayern Munich as the Premier League champions admire Kimmich. They also note how the 28-year-old is now set to consider his future at the Bundesliga giants. His contract is only due to run to June 2025.
Earlier in May, 90min also reported that Kimmich is considering his options after becoming unstable at Bayern Munich. Intermediaries have also reached out to a number of teams to sound out their interest in the versatile and talented midfielder. One team they approached was Man City.
His intermediaries have also contacted Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid to discuss their interest in Kimmich’s possible transfer from Bayer Munich. Most of the sides approached would be keen if he is available. He is perfectly the type of player Arsenal are after. He can play in multiple roles equally well.
One route Manchester City are exploring to sign Arsenal transfer target Kimmich is to give Bayern Munich the chance to buy Joao Cancelo. The full-back moved to Bavaria on loan with an option to buy worth £61.5m in January. But the Citizens are now open to a potential swap. But Bayern Munich has now decided that they don’t want to make the Cancelo deal permanent.
