“I was wrong about him”: Micah Richards on £34 million Liverpool star

Micah Richards went to the BBC Match of the Day Top 10 podcast, where he was talking about the Liverpool star Mo Salah. Micah expressed his doubt over how Mo Salah didn’t fit in at Chelsea. Mo salah signed from FC Basel after a breakthrough season at the Swiss club. Salah played two seasons at Chelsea in which he didn’t the club officials to retain him. He went on loan to Serie A side Fiorentina and then Roma. Salah’s loan to Roma was converted into a permanent transfer in 2016-2017 season. Mo Salah quickly became a renowned talent at AS Roma which earned him his transfer to Liverpool in 2018. Salah became star of the Merseyside club being the Premier League top scorer and best player. Liverpool advanced into the Finals of the UEFA Champions League which they eventually lost to Real Madrid.

Micah on Salah’s spell at Chelsea and success at Liverpool

The Football pundit, Micah Richards revealed that he played with Mo Salah in Fiorentina for a brief period, and he was impressed with the player’s ability and skill in trainings. The former player said,

“He was at Fiorentina with me and I can’t believe Chelsea let him go. He used to get the ball in training, dribble past everyone and just pass it into the net, he did the exact same in the games, I remember before Chelsea at Basel he did exactly the same. I was thinking in my head he must be a bad egg, because there’s no way on his ability he’s not playing at Chelsea.”

Micah said that he thought Salah must be a “bad egg”, apart from that he saw no reason why the winger didn’t succeed at Chelsea. But he corrected himself in this podcast saying he was wrong about the player. He said,

“He’s the nicest guy ever, he’s really humble.”
