Chelsea have defeated the premier league table toppers Tottenham Hotspurs. This loss can be a potential damage to the premier league winning dreams for the Spurs as Manchester City are back at the top after this match. Chelsea thrashed the former league toppers 4-1 at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium. Moreover, the home team saw 2 of their players, Cristian Romero and Dennis Udogie being sent off. Now this red card incident has sparked gossips among the pundits. The reason being? Cristian Romero tackled his national team companion Enzo Fernandez inside the penalty box. He received the red card straight away after the VAR Check. However, some commentators and pundits beleive that this red card on the Argentine was not meaningful. Former Manchester United Man Garry Neville thinks otherwise. Garry Neville criticizes Cristian Romero and he believes that the player exactly knew what he was doing.

Moreover, the veteran compared Romero’s challenge to that of Curtis Jones that happened over 6 weeks ago when Liverpool played Tottenham. Jones received a red card on his tackle on Yves Bissouma. He initially received the yellow card but he got the red one post VAR Check.

Garry Neville criticizes the fact that Romero did the worst challenge possible on Fernandez despite knowing that it was wrong.

According to liverpoolworld, Neville put his opinion on the incident while he was commentator ing for Sky Sports.

“If you go back to Curtis Jones’ challenge a few weeks ago that I thought was harsh, this one was worse. Romero knows exactly what he’s doing “. – Garry Neville said.

Even ex-Tottenham and Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp is supporting Neville on his statement. He too thinks that the challenge on Enzo Fernandez was way too harsh and the red card was completely acceptable. Moreover, the left back Dennis Udogie also saw a red card after getting two yellows. His two footed reckless tackle on Raheem Sterling only saw him booked. This was a bit surprising. But later on in the game, he was also sent off.
