Chelsea defender Axel Disasi is quite injury prone and suffers with injury so often. However, due to his frequent injuries, it may happen for Disasi to miss games at a stretch for Chelsea, some of them being vital ones. Chelsea’s next match in the premier league is against their arch rivals, Arsenal.
Disasi to miss games:
Nizaar Kinsella said on his article,
No sooner had he been added to the France squad to replace Dayot Upamecano than he withdrew from injury. Axel Disasi had quite the day yesterday.
We’re not sure how the timings worked out, but regardless, the Chelsea defender has told his national team he can’t play in these two weeks after hurting his quad against Burnley on Saturday. He further added to his article.
However, Nizaar Kinsella’s article on the subject says Disasi has been managing a thigh problem for some time. It just aggravated it at the weekend. Hence, in either way, it makes sense to not take risks and to take rest for a couple of weeks to become fit and fine absolutely.
Pochettino’s probable solutions:
However, Pochettino has an easy solution to this problem of Disasi. That’s why he doesn’t seem to have any problem even if Disasi misses some upcoming games.
Benoit Badiashile and Trevoh Chalobah are on the verge of returning to full training. However, they haven’t played a minute yet and will need time to build up their fitness completely.
So now, if Disasi misses a couple of games, Mauricio Pochettino will likely have to move Levi Colwill inside to centre back, who is actually getting developed as a left back in due course of time. Alongwith Colwill, he’ll then have to keep Ian Maatsen or Marc Cucurella playing down the left. Thus, he’ll have a temporary solution to this problem of Disasi to miss games in the short run. However, he’ll have to think otherwise if the problem persists in the long run.
