David Ornstein believes Arsenal are favourites to sign Declan Rice. Arsenal have been chasing the midfielder for quite a long time. It is getting closer as each day passes by.

Speaking on the Five YouTube channel, David Ornstein shared the prevailing view within football about Rice. He says that the majority of the people in the game think that the West Ham midfielder will be targeted by the Gunners, and quickly.

What does David Ornstein have to say about this transfer

Ornstein in a recent interview went on to say:-

‘Arsenal have prioritised him as their top target this summer and they are at the front of the queue. There is interest from elsewhere, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Newcastle too and Chelsea,” Ornstein said.

I sense that consensus across the industry is that Arsenal will try and press on with this and rapidly to try and strike an agreement.”

Ornstein is one of the most reliable journalists out there. As the old saying goes, there is no smoke without fire. And if everyone within football is expecting Arsenal to make their move for the so-called £80m man, then a bid could be incoming very soon.

With West Ham’s asking price set at an astronomical figure, this has all the hallmarks of being a transfer saga that rumbles on. They would like to get this deal done before pre-season. So that the players would be ready before the start of the season.

Arsenal were already looking to bolster their midfield so losing Xhaka will possibly mean two new arrivals in the engine department. West Ham star Declan Rice and Brighton ace Moises Caicedo are top of the shopping list. The rumours say that the deal will cost up to €80 million. Rice is keen on a move to a Champions League team. He dreams of winning the Premier League and the Champions League.

Being young Rice could develop into a beast under Arteta.
