“Could have changed them all”- Erik ten Hag blasts Manchester United players after loss

About Football Express UK

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has lashed out at the players after the 4-0 loss to Brentford in their match away from home.

The Red Devils have had a dreadful start to their Premier League campaign as just nothing appears to be working out. The ray of hope after the arrival of ten Hag to the new signings still doesn’t solve the miseries.

United played their second match as the Bees thrashed them 4-0 away from home at the Gtech Community Stadium. Brentford took advantage of the petty mistakes made by ten Hag’s men and punished them, handing the side their second loss.

Moreover, the Mancunian side appeared clueless on the pitch with a lot of areas that seemed exposed. A match that could have been United’s three points to seal was effortlessly snatched by Thomas Frank’s men.

Right from the get-go, Brentford appeared to be on a mission while United didn’t look like a side with a plan. Moreover, the Red Devils were just as poor as they kissed goodbye to the previous season.

Another game, another loss, and another shambolic performance have made the fans lose hopes on the side. Additionally, ten Hag too expressed his frustration with the kind of performance projected by United.

Upon being asked regarding the decision of making three substitutions during half-time, he said-

“I changed three, but I could have changed them all.

We wanted to bring some fresh energy in the game, there was nothing specific to the ones we subbed because I don’t think it’s all to them.”

“You can have a plan, but we put the plan in the bin. It’s nothing to do with tactical – the first two goals.

It’s about dealing with the ball. That’s one. And two, decisions,”

“They followed my instructions but they made bad decisions. That’s football, it’s a game of mistakes and we got punished.”

As United continue their string of losses, they are set to lock horns with Liverpool next week at Old Trafford. Ten Hag’s men are up for a real test and will hope to not endure another loss against Klopp’s side.
