Chris Sutton believes that Arsenal should sign Dominik Solanke in January.

Arsenal

Chris Sutton believes that Arsenal should sign Dominik Solanke. Moreover, the football pundit thinks that the Gunners should stop chasing Ivan Toney. Arsenal have just lost to West Ham and they’re already at the 4th position. The team was struggling to score goals against West Ham. Because of this, Arsenal lost their 3rd game of the season. They had 30 shots on against West Ham. Out of which, only 8 shots were on target. Their inability to convert big chances was clearly visible. In addition to that, they lost all the 3 points as well. The team needs to sign a striker in the upcoming January transfer window if they want to get back on the top position.

According to the Goonertalk, Dominik Solanke is the perfect fit for Mikel Arteta’s squad. He’s got 12 goals and an assist in 18 appearances so far this season. Moreover, he scored 44 goals in the championship in his 2 seasons there. Because of his stunning performance, Bournemouth got back to the premier league in 2022. If Solanke was there for Arsenal against West Ham, the Gunners would have scored more than 2 goals. Such is the attacking prowess of Dominik Solanke. Gabriel Jesus missed many chances against West Ham which is a clear indication that he’s not a perfect fit for Mikel Arteta’s playing style.

Chris Suton believes that Ivan Toney isn’t a right choice for Arsenal at the moment.

As we already know that Ivan Toney was serving an 8 month ban for betting charges. He will be back on the field in the next year. However, he’s been out of playing environment for months now. He can’t just get back on the field and start scoring goals. Toney will need some time to get back to his old goalscoring form. And Arsenal can’t afford to wait for a player to get back in form. The race to the premier league title has got intresting and the teams want to maintain their winning form. No team can take the risk of waiting for their players to adapt to the game. They need already established players who are in excellent form.
