Chelsea target wants to join Real Madrid, huge upset for Pochettino.

Wright Chelsea's Potter

Chelsea’s top transfer target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is one of the best young players in the world right now. Nicknamed “Kvaradona” for his dribbling ability, the Georgian has been phenomenal for Napoli in the Serie A. Chelsea have been actively scouting Kvaratskhelia for a while now. The 22-year-old was crucial in Napoli’s Scudetto last season. He has scored 4 goals and provided 5 assists in his 18 appearances so far for the Italian side this season. Chelsea were planning a big money deal for the winger in the summer but recent reports might prove things difficult for the blues. Kvaratskhelia has already publicly expressed his desire to play for Real Madrid in an interview earlier. But now his father also confirmed the Georgian’s desire to play for the Los Blancos. Fabrizio Romano reports on X, that the player’s father Badri told Geo team that,

“Khvicha always dreamed and still dreams of playing for Real Madrid. I am sure about it”. For Khvicha, playing vs Real Madrid was special. In my family everyone is a Real Madrid supporter, except me.”

Chelsea are already battling Man United interests for the player. But the repeated instances of the Georgian and his family talking about his dream to play for the Los Blancos makes the situation difficult.

Real Madrid is Kvaratskhelia’s dream

In an interview last year, he openly declared his admiration for the 14 times Champions League winners, he said

“My biggest dream is to win the Champions League with Real Madrid. I’ve been a Real Madrid fan since I was a child. With my brothers, we were always watching their games”

Now this year his agent came forward and said,

“His father and I are Barça fans, but Kvara loves Real Madrid,”

The Spanish giants have not made a formal bid for the Georgian, but reports suggest that they are also following the winger’s progress. It’s clear that Chelsea have a very few chances in front of a club like Real Madrid, but since there hasn’t been any movement from the Spanish club, hopes are still alive for the blues.
