Chelsea suffers a setback in recruiting Moises Caicedo

About Football Express UK

Chelsea hopes of signing Moises Caicedo suffered another significant setback. The 21-year-old is in a link with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer. Since, Mauricio Pochettino aims to strengthen his midfield options further.

In the past 24 hours, Chelsea made a new bid for Moises Caicedo. But unfortunately, it was promptly rejected. The player expressed desire to leave the Amex Stadium. However, Brighton rejected the offer. The club is resolute in keeping Caicedo and will only consider a deal if it meets their valuation.

Despite Brighton’s firm stance, Chelsea is still unwavering in their determination to sign Caicedo. Especially since the player himself has expressed his desire to join the club. Initially, Chelsea appeared to be in a strong position to secure the Ecuadorian midfielder’s signature. But with the new season ready to begin in just under two weeks, time is running out for the transfer to finish.

Enzo Fernandez wants Chelsea to give him a proper role

Meanwhile, Enzo Fernandez, the Chelsea star, seems to have hinted at the club’s hierarchy regarding the potential need for a new midfield partner in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Enzo recently liked a post which said:

“It would be a travesty if we didn’t give Enzo Fernandez a proper platform to play his best game after spending so much getting him in. As good as some have been next to him, more is needed for the Premier League.”

It is uncertain if the club’s hierarchy will take prompt action to address the issue and aid Fernandez’s progress in his role. However, time is of the essence. Liverpool, Arsenal and various clubs remain quite busy in the transfer market as the new season is fast approaching.
