Chelsea blew away a 2-goal lead to draw with Wolves as the two sides met in the Premier League. Moreover, the draw which came at Stamford Bridge meant Chelsea have now won only two of their last five home league games. Chelsea’s new owners watched from the stands as their new team conceded an equalizer in the last minute of the game. However, one incident which has come to light is the fallout between a Chelsea player and manager Thomas Tuchel.
Players are bound to get frustrated when their team blows away a healthy advantage. In the same vein, Chelsea players looked dejected and utterly frustrated as they let in the leveller in the 7th minute of the injury time. However, one player seems to have taken it too far with the Chelsea boss.
Blues’ player to leave after another bust-up with Chelsea manager
According to Chelsea insider Nathan Gissing, Marcos Alonso happens to be the Chelsea player who fell out with Tuchel. Alonso after hitting a purple patch in some of his last games failed to deliver against Wolves. The left-back completed only 15 passes and put in a mere 2 crosses in the first half of the game. As a result, Tuchel took him off at half-time.
However, Gissing has something else to say about the Spaniard’s substitution. Gissing said that Marcos Alonso had a ‘heated exchange’ with Thomas Tuchel before the latter subbed him off. Moreover, Gissing has suggested that the player had a ‘bust up’ with the Chelsea manager which could result in the Wolves game being Alonso’s last ever for the West Londoners.
Alonso is ready to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season
This is not the first time the Chelsea player was at crossroads with Thomas Tuchel. Alonso and Tuchel were involved in heated exchanges earlier as well according to multiple reports. Moreover, the reports revealed that the left-back even caused problems for Tuchel in the Chelsea dressing room. However, it seems the latest incident was the last straw on the camel’s back.
Marcos Alonso is staring at a summer exit, with a return to his native country of Spain more likely. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, FC Barcelona are in search of a left-back for competition with Jordi Alba and Marcos Alonso is now on their shortlist. The Catalans have even begun the negotiations according to Romano. Looking at the current scenario, Tuchel would be more than happy to let Alonso go.
Moreover, the manager will have the backing of the new owners in the summer market. Tuchel will certainly want to replace Alonso if all he gets rid of him in the summer. And once Ben Chilwell is back from injury, Alonso would get as minimum of minutes as possible if he stays beyond this season.
