Chelsea on the verge of selling Kai Havertz on a permanent deal

About Football Express UK

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea is on the verge of finalizing the transfer of Kai Havertz to Arsenal this week. Fabrizio Romano recently shared on Twitter that Kai Havertz has successfully undergone the initial phase of his medical examination. Thus, signaling his imminent move to North London with Arsenal.

Despite being a regular in the side, Kai Havertz’s time at Stamford Bridge was underwhelming. His performances with Chelsea did not meet expectations.

As the primary striker for the majority of the previous campaign, Havertz struggled to make a significant impact in terms of goal-scoring. This was reflective of the overall disappointing season for the club.

What did Romano say about Chelsea striker Kai Havertz?

According to Fabrizio Romano, it appears that Arsenal emerged as the front-runners in the race to sign Kai Havertz. Meanwhile, Romano suggests that a deal between the two clubs will finalize in the coming week.

Romano said:

“Kai Havertz has already completed first part of the medical tests as new Arsenal player. Just waiting for the contracts to be signed on club side. Deal from Chelsea will be completed this week.”

Chelsea will likely be satisfied with the fee Arsenal is reportedly paying for Kai Havertz. That is considering the significant transfer fee the Blues invested in acquiring him in 2020. However, the financial aspect of the deal should be pleasing for Chelsea in the context of their initial investment.

Meanwhile, the imminent departure of Kai Havertz from Chelsea will coincide with the exits of several other first-team players from the club. Their notable destination being Saudi Arabia.
