Chelsea are reportedly in contact with PSG star Neymar Jr. as club wants to sign the forward in the transfer window.
Not a single summer has gone by without Neymar Jr. not being linked with an exit since joining PSG. This summer too, the Brazilian has been linked with a move but this time to the English top-flight.
Manchester United initially had thoughts to plot a move but have slowed down the process of the transfer. Now, their rivals, Chelsea have stepped in and are interested in the services of the PSG forward this summer.
According to ESPN, Neymar is under the impression that the Ligue 1 outfit is not too pleased with his performances. Moreover, the Brazilian is considering making an exit from Paris and joining the English top-flight.
Chelsea to make a statement with Neymar signing
The Blues have a new owner in Todd Boehly after the exit of Roman Abramovich who created his own legacy with the club.
Boehly too would be looking to replicate the success and the stature of the club maintained by the former owner. Chelsea have made noise in the transfer market after joining the race to sign Richarlison this summer.
Moreover, the club is in need of a forward who can score goals for them in big matches. Manager Thomas Tuchel is looking to solve the goal-scoring issues endured by the club in the last campaign.
Now, with the reported interest in Neymar, Tuchel surely will be delighted to bring the player to Stamford Bridge. Todd Boehly’s green light for the PSG Starman would mean the new owner will have made a strong statement.
Neymar’s inclusion will show that the new owner is ready to do everything for the best interest of the club. A statement signing in Neymar could solve the problems in front of the goal for Chelsea along with good image building.
