Chelsea and Catalan giants Barcelona have locked horns a number of times in the transfer window this summer.
While clubs are in the midst of the transfer window, two clubs Chelsea and Barcelona have crossed swords this summer. In the transfer window, it is very possible that clubs will be fishing in the same pond for a player.
Now, on many occasions this summer, the two clubs have gone head-to-head for a player in the transfer window. All of this has annoyed the Blues considering most of their targets have preferred a move to Barcelona.
Chelsea annoyed by Barcelona
Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea have tried to bolster their squad having impressive players on their target list this summer. Last season, the club had flaws in front of the goal and the gaffer want to ensure the problem doesn’t percolate.
Hoping to bolster the attack, Chelsea went all in for Leeds United winger Raphinha earlier in the window. However, Barcelona hijacked the deal as the player too preferred a move to the Camp Nou for the next season.
The Blues face void in the defensive cover after the exits of Rudiger to Real Madrid and Christensen to Barcelona. So, the gaffer decided to go all in for Sevilla’s Jules Koundé to bring in a centre-back in the backline.
Eventually, the club signed Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli to bolster the defensive cover.
However, the deal just like the one with Raphinha appears to be hijacked by the Catalan giants. Despite Barcelona enduring financial constraints, the club seems to be pulling off a miracle.
Now, the Blaugrana outfit wants Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta before the transfer window concludes. Tuchel seems to be ‘annoyed’ by the repeated clashing with the club and expressed that he wants Azpi at Chelsea.
However, Azpilicueta too is open to the idea of donning the Blaugrana outfit this coming season. It remains to be seen if Chelsea will listen to offers from Barcelona or outright reject them.
