Brentford board really like underrated young Arsenal player

Arsenal

Brentford are big admirers of Eddie Nketiah and have already asked about the Arsenal striker in the last few weeks.

Eddie Nketiah is one player within the Gunners squad who appears to have a question mark hanging over him heading into the January transfer window.

The England international has scored more goals in the Premier League this season than Gabriel Jesus. However, Mikel Arteta appears to be interested in signing another striker next month.

Ivan Toney is one of Arsenal’s top targets for the window. And with that, Nketiah’s future at the Emirates appears to be uncertain.

According to TEAMtalk, Brentford have already asked about the 24-year-old. Arteta has rejected the enquiry. However, Arsenal may have to consider bids for some of their players as they look to fund their own spending in the window.

And TEAMtalk reports Nketiah is incredibly popular amongst the Bees hierarchy.

Interestingly, the report adds that a swap deal involving Toney is seen as unlikely. But clearly, Arsenal want to sign Toney and need to find a way to make a move happen.

Arsenal need to seriously consider to sell the striker

If Arsenal need to sell Nketiah to sign Toney, you would imagine that plenty of Gunners fans would urge the club to do exactly that.

Nketiah is arguably ‘underrate‘ and has often stepped up whenever Arsenal have needed him. But he has arguably not quite kicked on to the level where you could see him firing Arteta’s side to the title.

That perception will only fuel Nketiah. And it would be absolutely no surprise if he prove to be a success if he joined Thomas Frank’s men.

But Arsenal need to be ruthless if they are going to get themselves across the line this season, and remain there in subsequent years.

So if Brentford are prepare to make a significant offer for Nketiah next month, Arsenal should seriously consider letting him move on.
