Besiktas and West Ham shake hands for Arthur Masuaku

Flamengo is not in touch

Turkish channel Fanatik says that Besiktas and West Ham have finally ‘shook hands’ on an agreement for left-back Arthur Masuaku on a loan-to-buy deal – as the Turkish outfit tries to look for a replacement for Ridvan Yilmaz.

21-year-old Yilmaz, has joined Rangers for £3.4million up-front and £1.8million in the form of add-ons. Besiktas need to replace Yilmaz and they have seemingly found it in Masuaku. The 28-year-old has endured a difficult time at the London Stadium.

Since joining West Ham in 2016, during the Slaven Bilic era, Masuaku has made 128 appearances for the club. He clocked up an average of little over 21 appearances a season, he has entered the final two years of his Hammers deal.

A move to Besiktas will be appealing for both player and club in that case. The DR Congo international is set to join Besiktas on a loan-to-buy deal, with the SuperLig giants and West Ham said to have ‘shook hands’ on an agreement.

BESIKTAS AND WEST HAM HAVE ‘SHOOK HANDS’ ON MASUAKU DEAL

Besiktas’ work in the transfer window does have a Premier League flavor. Three of their seven signings have come from EPL clubs, in Wout Weghorst from Burnley, Cenk Tosun from Everton, and Romain Saiss from Wolves.

Gedson Fernandes has also joined the club, from Benfica for around £ 5 million – after a loan from Tottenham. So, it makes sense that ex-West Brom gaffer Valerian Ismael is looking at the Premier League to replace Yilmaz.

Masuaku should leave West Ham to protect his career – with the Hammers having Aaron Cresswell as the primary choice. David Moyes might also want another full-back, to replace Masuaku.
